Description Afrormosia is a heavy and dense type of wood that is extremely durable and very resistant to termites. It has a wide range of uses both for interior and exterior applications. If screws and nails are used pre-boring is recommended. This wood takes an excellent finish and glues well. It closely resembles teak and is used as a teak substitute so often that it is also referred to as African teak. The grain varies from straight to interlocked. The texture of the wood is less oily than teak but is very durable to fungi and termites.
