|Description||Zebrano has outspoken flamed grain pattern with pronounced dark stripes when quartersawn. Heartwood is a light golden yellow or brown with narrow veining streaks of dark brown to almost black, giving the quartered surfaces a zebra-stripe appearance. Depending on whether the wood is flatsawn or quartersawn, the stripes can be either chaotic and wavy (flatsawn) or somewhat uniform (quartersawn). It is strong and stiff with a fairly high density. Zebrawood is frequently quartersawn because of the harvesting difficulties. The striping pattern can vary considerably (hence its name), and that pattern can be maximized by quarter-sawing. This lustrous wood has a texture ranging from medium to coarse, with a grain pattern that is usually wavy or interlocked.|
